Communications and Info Services:
- Receive Nexus eBulletins full of opportunities and resources that go to over 1000 emails
- Enjoy Nexus busy emporium of website resources, including the best calendar of events for exhibitions, performances, festivals, conferences and networking events, workshops and professional development. Also funding sources, competitions and calls for participation or employment, and more . . .
- Reach 1000s of people with free listings and promotion of member’s events, services and website links in Arts Nexus events calendar, publications, eBulletins and/or website
- Be Part of the Arts - enjoy Arts Nexus quarterly magazine packed with previews and reviews of shows and events, and opportunities for arts and cultural development in FNQ, delivered by direct mail (when funded).
Advice and Referral Service:
- Members only - meetings by appointment with staff for direct face-to-face advice via 4051 4433;
- Your website listed on Arts Nexus Weblinks website
- Referrals on request via Arts Nexus’ 2500+ database and skills register.
- Directories of FNQ and State based organisations
- Extensive resources area for pick-ups at our Reception at 18 City Arcade, 78 Grafton Street Cairns, open 9am-5pm except 12.30-1.30pm for lunch break.
- Telephone and email advice and referral services
Auspicing and Mentoring: Support for individuals or groups who receive public funds but do not have a legal status to do so, with Arts Nexus agreeing to manage their project finances and / or supporting their project skills and operation.
Project Management and Coordination Service: FNQ management of project delivery on behalf of other Government and non-Government agencies, often coming from Brisbane or afar, as a fee-for-service.
Training and Professional Development:
- Advice on a wide range of training opportunities relevant to the region’s creative sector.
- Member discounts for training provided by Nexus, or co-presented with other agencies.
Networking Events: Regular live forums, presentations and events, often with free entry for members.
Advocacy and Policy input: Arts Nexus actively participates in regional planning and advocates FNQ issues and priorities to a wide range of policy initiatives to reposition the FNQ creative sector as a recognised producer and presenter of distinctive arts and cultural experiences.
and finally . . . the REWARDS:
An Arts Nexus membership card entitles you to a wide range of discounts and freebies from participating businesses supporting the region’s creative community. This currently includes 2 free tickets to your choice of Cairns Civic Theatre house shows, and now a new deal for a buy-one-get-one-free offer to a show at the Tanks Arts Centre, and other discounts and freebies, totally offsetting the $38.50 cost of joining.
